New Year, New Intentions X Yoga Tree
On the last day of 2015, I decided I would not make any New Years resolutions. After all, hasn’t it been said that more than half of the people that make resolutions break them within the first month? Instead, I decided to set an intention for the new year, and that intention was to “take more risks and believe in myself.” Never did I imagine how significantly that intention would change my life. Never did I believe that I would leave my corporate job to pursue a full-time job in health and fitness. Yet here I am, in the first week of 2017, the first week of my brand new career.
And so this year I decided to keep with the tradition of setting an intention instead of a resolution.
After many months of juggling real estate, teaching spinning, nutrition school… the list goes on, and after many months of physically exhausting days, I have decided to set the intention to take care of my mind and my body. And what better way to nurture your mind and body than yoga?
Luckily, my beautiful friends at Yoga Tree are here to help me fulfill this intention. I am always saying how I know I should be taking yoga classes. Not only do the poses compliment and help stretch out my daily spinning workouts but yoga also calms my busy mind.
Between their five gorgeous studios in Toronto, I know I can always count on being able to find a Yoga Tree class that fits into my schedule at any time of day. Plus, I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of time over the next few months in their hot yoga rooms, stretching out my sore muscles…and escaping the harsh Toronto winter.
Thank you Yoga Tree for not only holding me accountable to my New Years intention but for making it accessible. I look forward to a year of nurturing my mind and body with yoga.
