Settling into our new house was quick and seamless. Thanks to the efforts of my talented, interior designer sister and my slightly obsessive compulsive husband, you would think we have been living here for years instead of months.
By the end of our first week, every room was meticulously organized and decorated. Every room except one. The former owner’s nursery. It quickly became the storage room, my extra closet, a gym and the laundry room all in one. Pretty much a big mess.
An even bigger mess was the kitchen table where I worked all day, left my opened and unopened packages, my laptop, running shoes and receipts everywhere. Basically DC’s biggest nightmare.
Between my disorganization and stress last year, we both knew that I needed a change. And while this extra room will one day be a nursery, my existing baby, my business, needed a home.
The stars all aligned in January when my friends at Etsy Canada offered to help me with an office makeover. But I didn’t just need an office. I needed a space where I could both work insanely hard and zone the eff out.
I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like. Cute storage for all my gym equipment, some inspirational quotes and plants. Lots of them. I shared my inspo with the Etsy team and they immediately got my vibe, recommending local shop owners for all my “jungalow” needs.
Below is a list of the items and their corresponding Etsy stores that brought my vision to life. I’m so excited to spend time in my new at-home sanctuary.
