Healthy Takeout with UberEATS
I know I always talk about meal prepping, grocery shopping and the benefits of a home cooked meal, but let’s be honest, sometimes life just gets in the way. Life has particularly been getting in the way a lot the past few months. Between my full time job, teaching at SPINCO , studying for my Personal Training certification and keeping up with my school work at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition I barely have time to brush my teeth in the morning, let alone cook dinner at night. As a result I have been doing a little too much ordering-in and thanks to UberEATS, it takes about 3 clicks and 30 minutes to have dinner at my doorstep.
For those few who are unfamiliar, UberEATS works similarly to its taxi-app counterpart Uber, where you place an order on your mobile app but you get a meal instead of a ride. With your credit card information already saved on the app, there is no need to worry about having cash around or leaving a tip (it’s already included). All you have to do is answer the door!
The convenience of UberEats plus the long list of Toronto restaurants that partner with the app make it all too appealing but luckily there are enough nutritious options too choose from so I can at least feel good about what I am eating. And if you are ever overwhelmed with all of the choices, you can even filter your search on the app for healthy eats. Talk about guilt-free take out!
If you have never used the app before, you can download it now and receive $10.00 off your first order using the code: KALEKRUNCHEATS.
Not sure what to order? Here are some of my go-to’s:
The Power salad from Flock. Add chicken and avocado of course!
The Transformer Salad from Fresh Restaurants. I also love the All Star Salad from there!
The Ultimate Bowl from Revitasize Cold Pressed Juice. I take out the agave as it is already so sweet and delicious!
The Trainers Bowl from Live Organic Food Bar. I always do the brown rice with tahini sauce.
It’s a toss up between the Oxaca or First Canadian Place bowl from Kupfert & Kim.
And sometime’s you just need one (or a day’s worth) of juices from Total Cleanse.
All photos my own.
