Skye’s First Birthday!

I cannot believe our baby Skye Skye…aka Cece…is a year old! It’s crazy how fast the year went by.

Skye was born in the thick of the pandemic. We had zero visitors to our house and she met family members either outside 6 feet away or through windows. On top of that, Lily also turned 1 AND 2 in lockdown.

Suffice it to say, we had not had a proper celebration for our girls since Lily’s baby naming in the summer of 2019.

So since Ontario restrictions lifted and we were finally legally allowed to celebrate something in person, I knew I wanted to do Skye’s first birthday right. And thats when I called in my friends at Duet Events.

Alexa and Aja, the powerhouse partners at Duet, know how to throw a party. Even though we only had a brunch with our immediate family, I wanted it to be special and they were the perfect pair for the job.

We decided to go with a “sky” theme, specifically pastel rainbows – what could be cuter for a little girl’s birthday?! I let Duet Events run with the details and they came up with the perfect, intimate little party.

Brunch was bagels, mini french toast sticks, pomodoro pasta, banana bread, a stunning fruit platter and the famous Rasa chopped salad all by The Food Dudes . Table linen was from Around The Table Linen Rentals.

It’s a family tradition that my mom makes all of our birthday cakes, and she understood the assignment. I can confirm it was as delicious as it looks!

We are so thankful we were finally able to celebrate and even more grateful to have these stunning photos to commemorate Skye’s first birthday – thank you 515 Photo Co. for capturing these details and moments for us.

Safe to say we made up for the lack of celebrations over the years 🙂 Even though Skye will never remember…I’ll never forget this special day!
