November Favourites
I’m back at it with my monthly favourites, letting you know which health, beauty, fashion and lifestyle products I’m using and loving these days.
Friendly reminder – these are products I actually use and I am not being paid to post any of this content!
If there are other categories you want to see, leave a comment on this post or send me an e-mail and I will include it in the next round.
Favourite Skincare Product:
Smooth & Nourished Oatmeal Scrub + Mask by St Ives
I’ve been pretty good recently about keeping my skincare routine as natural and simple as possible. About twice a week I will exfoliate in addition to cleansing my face and this is by far my favourite exfoliator. Unlike other exfoliating face scrubs that I have tried in the past, I find this texture rough enough so it feels like it is actually removing the dead skin and opening up my pores.
Favourite Beauty Product:
Bronzing Powder in Laguna by Nars
Here is where I need some help crossing over to the “clean beauty” side. I am still using traditional products mostly because I know nothing about beauty in general, let alone clean beauty. I basically find one product I like and stick with it for years. This is the case with my bronzer which I love because it is the perfect shade to achieve the natural bronzed but not orange look. It also feels really light on my skin and lasts all day.
Favourite Workout Gear:
Two Tone Active Hoodie by Joe Fresh
Now that the weather is cooling down here in Toronto, it’s taking me a little bit longer to warm up at the gym – especially first thing in the morning. I have been getting into working out in long sleeves and this hoodie has become a wardrobe staple. The hood is not too bulky allowing me to lie down and move around without it getting in the way and the material is incredibly soft. The price is also right, costing me $29.00 for a good quality piece. I can’t wait to try more of the Joe Fresh active-wear line.
Favourite Read:
Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss
I am a total health and wellness book junkie. Luckily for me, the industry is booming right now and it seems a new book is being published every day. I could spend hours in the book store deciding between a book on gut health or gluten and my library is steadily growing. I love Salt Sugar Fat mostly for it’s focus on refined sugars, which absolutely fascinates me (probably has something to do with my addiction). I highly recommend this one for people trying to understand what is really in our food and for people that might need a little encouragement when it comes to swapping junk for whole foods.
Favourite Recipe:
Sweet Potato Brownies by Deliciously Ella
I have been a huge fan of Deliciously Ella for several years and am thrilled she has become such a success! She has so many recipes that I love but one of my favourites that I make are her gooey, fudgy and delicious sweet potato brownies. She recently refined the recipe from the original in her cookbook and I have to say they are even more delicious than I thought possible. You can check her blog for the recipe too!
Hope you enjoyed this month’s version of my favourite things and let me know in the comments if you have any questions or suggestions.
