BEST BABY PRODUCTS FOR 2 KIDS UNDER 2
It’s been over 5 months since we brought baby Skye home from the hospital and it finally feels like we are finding our groove as a family of 4.
As expected, the first couple of months were a whirlwind as we tried to navigate the life of 2 under 2. But now that we have officially outgrown that title (Lily turned 2 in May) and now that we have slowly transitioned out of the newborn phase, I want to write about some of the things that helped us during that crazy time. Mainly, the products we used to help us survive life with 2 babies!
I’m super excited to be partnering with my West Coast Kids family on this post! As you already know, they are my go-to retailer for all my baby needs and you can catch up on some of the content we’ve partnered on before:
It’s no surprise that we spent a good amount of time on the West Coast Kids site and did lots of curb-side pickups prior to Skye being born to make sure we were all set up for bringing her home.
You’ll see below that the “theme” of most of these products is anything that can give me an extra set of hands. Basically most of these items are things I used to safely put Skye down so that I could be helpful and present with Lily.
So here you go, my top baby items you need for 2 under 2!
We loved this lounger in the early days. It is extremely transportable to bring around the house with you any time you need to quickly put the baby down. She stayed nice and snug in it, as the name suggests, and it is definitely a staple for any newborn but especially in the case of 2 under 2!
This is the double stroller we went with and we are extremely happy. We have the Bugaboo Fox already so we wanted to stay with the Bugaboo family. I love that I could take them for walks immediately because the Donkey has the option to use the bassinet for newborns. Lily was so excited to go for stroller rides and sit in her big girl seat next to Skye.
We switched over to Nanit monitors when Skye was born and I seriously can’t believe it took me so long! Obsessed. You can read my full review of the Nanit here. But it’s perfect for 2 kids because you can easily toggle back and forth between the 2 cribs.
This mobile is my best mom hack ever. I don’t know what it is about this thing but both my babies were/are mesmerized by it! Even if your baby is not in the crib yet, try this out on the crib as another place to put them down. I am always guaranteed at least 20 minutes of play time with this mobile on, which, if you’re a mom, might as well be 2 hours!! It’s amazing what we can get done with 20 free minutes, right?
Similarly to the Snuggle Me, this bouncer is another place I loved to put Skye down when I needed my hands. It has 3 different levels starting at the newborn phase, so we used it early on. This happened to be my favourite place to put her down during dinner time so I could eat with my hands and use my foot to bounce.
One of my best tips for newborn life, even with only one baby, is baby wearing. But this became especially helpful with 2 kids. I love this carrier because I found it was comfortable enough for both me and Skye right away. The cotton makes it cozy for the newborn but the straps and design are extremely supportive for the mom, especially in those early postpartum days where everything hurts.
So there you have it, my top list of items that saved us in the early days of 2 under 2. If we didn’t already have these items from when Lily was born, we registered for them at West Coast Kids and they really make the perfect gift for a new mom of 2! I hope this was helpful and be sure to catch my “Ask Me Anything: 2 under 2 Edition” IGTV over on West Coast Kids’ Instagram account!
